TEACHING

I have taught a psycholinguistics class at Bilkent University (PSYC442). I will also be teaching a class on second language learning (usage-based approaches to L2 learning) at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Why should you learn about psycholinguistics as a psychology major/minor?

a) Psycholinguistics is a branch of psychology that delves into the intricate relationship between language and the mind. As a psychology major or minor, here are compelling reasons why you should consider incorporating psycholinguistics into your academic journey:

b) Gain profound insights into how the human mind comprehends, produces, and acquires language. Uncover the cognitive mechanisms that underlie language use, contributing to a deeper understanding of the intricacies of human cognition.

c) Explore the connections between language and cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and perception. Psycholinguistics unravels the complex interplay between language and the broader spectrum of cognitive processes, enriching your understanding of the mind.

d) Contribute to the field of developmental psychology by studying the progression of language skills from infancy to adulthood. Psycholinguistics provides a lens through which you can examine language development and identify potential developmental challenges.
